Tips for Making Easy Fried Apple Pies

  • I chose to use Granny Smith apples for the filling but, you can certainly adapt using your favorite apple or the variety you have on hand.
  • I used Grands Southern Style biscuits for this recipe but, you may use any brand that you like.
  • To save time, the pie filling can and should be, prepared in advance and chilled until assembling the pies.
  • If you’d like to make smaller hand pies, divide each biscuit through the middle and use less filling. When doing so, a flaky-style biscuits will pull apart more easily.
  • You can also drizzle these pies with caramel, or make a quick cream glazed, if preferred.
